Indeed has announced that an update to its privacy policy will be effective as of 1 April 2023.

With the aim of making your recruiting activity efficient at every stage, we thought it appropriate to share with you a part of the communiqué that Indeed sent to Inrecruiting, so that you can assimilate the new provisions in good time and make any corrections.

As part of Indeed’s ongoing commitment to protecting job seekers' privacy and security, we are enforcing an existing policy that will prevent employers from asking job seekers for their full driver's license numbertheir full social security number (SSN), or their bank account information. Effective April 1st, 2023, clients who do not update any screener/ application questions to remove requests for PII (Personally Identifiable Information) will have reduced visibility and Indeed Apply will be disabled across their jobs.

Indeed understands that collecting this information may be important for certain roles. We encourage employers to collect this information after the initial application process on Indeed, during the hiring process. The enforcement of this policy is important to protect job seekers' sensitive information.

ACTION REQUIRED FROM THE CUSTOMER

Filter out all screener questions that ask applicants for their social security number (SSN) or other Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as indicated above in the release.

What will happen from 1 April if I do not remove the screeners/application questions asking for PII as stated above?

As of 1 April 2023, if you do not update all of your selection/application applications to remove PII as indicated above, Indeed Apply will be deactivated, and your advertisements will have limited visibility.
